Abra opens tourism for locals
by Christian Allister G. Tubadeza / PIA

BANGUED, Abra – The province is now gradually opening its tourism sites to local tourists but health protocols will be strictly enforced.

The Provincial Anti-Covid-19 Task Force led by Governor Maria Jocelyn Bernos has allowed the resumption of tourism industry provincewide. However, she clarified that LGUs may still suspend all tourism activities in their areas of responsibility if deemed necessary depending upon the current situation in their localities.

The legendary Kaparkan Falls in Brgy. Caganayan in Tineg is now open for local tourists only.

With the assistance of ABRAmazing Tour as provincial service providers, interested Abrenians may now visit the Kaparkan Falls during the rainy season.

Other tourist sites such as the Piwek Rock Formations and Vira Caves are still closed while the LGU is working on the guidelines on its operation.

In Lagayan, the Lusuac Spring Resort has also been opened. Interested visitors can coordinate through the official Facebook page of Lagayan Tourism Council for online booking. As part of the new normal, tourists are required to accomplish and present the health declaration forms and tourist registration forms.

Lagayan Mayor Edmarc Crisologo said a maximum of 30 visitors is allowed to the Lusuac Spring per day.

Daguioman and Tubo are still not accepting tourists.
