Public’s help sought in checking projects
PIA Kalinga
Kalinga, 1/11/2009

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Rep. Manuel Agyao called on the public to be vigilant and help monitor the implementation of projects in the city.

This was his New Year’s message before public employees during the first inter-agency flag ceremony on Jan. 5 at the Capitol, which his office co-sponsored.

Agyao urged his audience to bring their grievances to proper authorities.

He also rallied civil servants to uphold the principle of transparency in all government transactions so as not to create public doubt, which sometimes disturb the smooth deli-very of public service. Setting an example, projects funded by his priority development assistance fund and their corresponding funding were presented during the regular Kapihan sa Kapitolyo.

Meanwhile, the congressman told contractors of the SONA project and those of other similar infrastructure projects during an exit conference at his residence here to follow plans and specifications of projects so as not to entail delays.

Recently, Department of Public Works and Highways Sec. Hermogenes Ebdane was in the province to personally assess the implementation of SONA projects with Agyao. Ebdane assured that the DPWH will strictly supervise the completion of the concreting of the Tabuk-Bontoc road until 2010.
