Five women were recognized by the Soroptimist International Pines City in simple rites for their contribution to the City of Baguio.
Leading the awardees was councilor Elaine Sembrano who was recognized for the category “Making a difference for the women.” She was cited for her activities and programs as a member of the legislative body of the city.
Alicia Parsi received the Women’s Opportunity award while Genevieve Matbagan was cited for the Violet Richardson award.
For her service as member of the Philippine National Police, PO1 Jovelyn Amayan also received an award.
Lastly, Marciana Palonga received a citation for being an outstanding street sweeper.
The recognition of women coming from various fields of endeavor is an annual search given by SI Pines, to make known the contribution that women give to the City of Baguio.
Soroptimist is an all women organization which is active in various fields, contributing for the betterment of the city.
