Commission on Elections sets dates for SK polls registration

Filipino youth 15 to 17 years old are encouraged to register for the Sangguniang Kabataan elections  scheduled on  Feb. 21, 2015.

The Commission on Elections announced that the registration period will be on Sept. 20 to 29 at the Comelec offices nationwide.

In Baguio, the Office of the City Election Officer is at the Gov. Pack Road.

Those who are 15 to 17 years old or those who will turn 15 on or before Feb. 21, 2015; those who were unable to register during the SK registration period on July 22 to 31, 2013; and those who have been residing in the barangay for at least six months on election day are qualified to register and participate in the 2015 elections.

Registrants should bring any of the following documents: certificate of live birth, baptismal certificate, school records or any other document that will establish their identity and qualifications. If these documents are not available, any person may, under oath, identify the applicant.

Meanwhile, City Election Officer, John Paul A. Martin announced that the Comelec is still conducting offsite registration in line with the continuing voters’ registration for the 2016 elections.

He said the schedules and venues are: Sept. 14 at East Bayan Park, Sept. 28 at Camdas Multipurpose Hall, Oct. 5 at M. Roxas covered court, Oct. 12 at Pacdal covered court, Oct. 19 at Hillside Barangay Hall, Oct. 26 at Lualhati Barangay Hall, Nov. 9 at MRR Queen of Peace Barangay Hall, Nov. 16 at Camp 8 Police Station, Nov. 23 at Kayang Hilltop Barangay Hall, and on Nov. 30 at Phil-Am Barangay Hall.
