Investigation is ongoing for the case of a man who was shot and killed on Valentine’s Day in La Trinidad, Benguet.

C/Insp. Benson Macli-ing, La Trinidad police chief, said investigators are still looking for witnesses during the incident that happened in the evening of Feb. 14 near the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post.

Macli-ing said a concert was happening in the nearby municipal gym when the shooting incident took place.

The victim was  identified as 22-year old Roland Guitala Abriam, also known as “Lokoy,” a resident of Barangay Pico.

In the police report, the police received a distress call at 10:30 p.m. from a woman who refused to be identified, reporting about the incident, which happened outside Broadway Bar and Restaurant.

The police then proceeded to the area where they saw the victim on the ground. The responders then rushed the victim to the Benguet General Hospital, wherein the victim was pronounced dead by Dr. Roland Fidel Alipio.

Recovered from the victim were P1,300 cash, a cellphone charger, one pouch, and a headset.

Two slugs of still unidentified caliber recovered from the body of the victim were turned over to the investigators.

The victim’s remains were brought to his residence after the autopsy of the authorities.

Based on the record of LTMPS, the victim had a record for theft and robbery.
