Land Bank brings e-services in hard-to-reach towns of Abra
by PIA-Abra

BANGUED, Abra – The Land Bank of the Philippines-Bangued is bringing electronic banking to the upland municipalities of Abra.

LBP-Bangued Branch Manager Gina Vasquez-Gabbua recently led the launching of the Point of Sale (POS) Cash-Out Services in Bucay with the Bucay Rural Bank, Inc. as its partner institution.

The POS project is one way of achieving Land Bank’s vision and mission to become the top universal bank that promotes inclusive development in the countryside.

Gabuat said that with the POS-Cash Out Service facility in Bucay, LBP depositors can withdraw cash from the Bucay Rural Bank. This is unlike the swiper issued to the Abra Diocesan Teachers and Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative, which is used only for debit purposes.

During the POS launching, Bucay Mayor Bernadette Cardenas-Baroña was the first to try the cash out machines. The residents thanked LBP-Bangued for bringing the first POS gadget in their town.

The POS Cash-Out Service in Bucay benefits not only the people of the town but also those from the neighboring municipalities of Manabo, Boliney, Luba, Tubo, and the rest of the Budabosa District that includes Bucloc and Daguioman.

Clients from these areas no longer have to travel to LBP-Bangued to withdraw, saving them time, effort, and expenses.

The POS in Bucay will also decongest the long-queues in ATM machines in Bangued, especially during payout period for 4Ps beneficiaries and senior citizen pensioners.
