48 laborers finds short-term jobs in DPWH MP thru TUPAD
by Press release

PARACELIS, Mountain Province – Forty-eight individuals will soon start working in their respective barangays under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (Tupad) program of the Department of Labor and Employment.

The short-term employment is implemented in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways-Mountain Province Second District Engineering Office (MPSDEO).

MPSDEO OIC District Engr. Rustom A. Martinez said the partnership is timely because most of the drainages in the municipalities covered by the office need de-clogging.

He said the drainages are blocked with silt due to the typhoons that hit the eastern towns of Mountain Province.

The beneficiaries will work on the national and barangay roads of Barlig, Natonin and Paracelis. They will repair, clean, and de-clog canals, esteros and drainages, among other works.

DOLE released P657,600 to DPWH-MPSDEO, being an accredited co-partner to cover the wages and insurance coverage of the beneficiaries.

Each worker will receive a daily wage of P320 in compliance to the prevailing minimum wage rate of the province.

MPSDEO Administrative Officer V Gladys Faith C. Comaad said a second batch comprising of 48 workers will also be working under the program in December.
