70 small businesses in Abra get aid under NSB program
by PIA

BANGUED, Abra – A total of 70 small businesses from 18 barangays in the province are the latest beneficiaries of the Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (NSB) program which   is now on its second year of implementation.

NSB is one of the components of the Livelihood Seeding Program of the Department of Trade and Industry to uphold the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises in the different barangays under the 4th, 5th and 6th class municipalities, and to generate jobs for sustainable development across the provinces.

Together with local officials, DTI Abra Provincial Director Samuel Gallardo recently awarded liveli hood kits worth P 8,000 each to 70 beneficiaries to aid in the recovery and continuity of their businesses.

The program is also in collaboration with provincial government, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Science and Technology, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Cooperative Development Authority and local government units.

Dominga Marquez, a sari-sari store owner from Pagala, Bucay, thanked the government agencies present during the awarding for the support that they extended.

“I am very happy and thankful of this help given by the government especially in this pandemic. With this, we can have a fresh start to adjust in the midst of this pandemic,” she said.
