BCDEO resumes damaged riprap

In the aftermath of last year’s typhoon “Cosme”, a portion of the existing riprap at the back of the pre-fabricated school building at the Baguio City National High School, Roxas Annex was damaged.

David Mendoza, head teacher VI (AP) of Roxas Annex requested the DPWH-Baguio City District Engineering Office for immediate inspection of the same. Assessment disclosed that the said damaged slope protection poses danger to the adjacent building and to the students and teachers occupying the said building. Immediate repair of the damaged riprap was recommended.

District Engr. Ireneo Gallato of DPWH-BCDEO immediately directed Engr. Rene Zarate, OIC-chief, maintenance section to cause the immediate repair of the said structure.

The project was implemented and funded from the maintenance fund of the DPWH-BCDEO under the direct supervision of Zarate and Engr. Gallato.

The teachers and students of BCNHS-Roxas Annex were overwhelmed by the immediate completion of the project and they expressed their gratitude to BCDEO.
