Family week events slated
by CSC Release

The Civil Service Commission through Announcement 51, s. 2009 marks the celebration of the National Family Week on Sept. 21-27 pursuant to Presidential Proclamation 60 dated Sept. 28, 1992.

With the theme “Si nanay, matatag sa lahat ng bagay,” the celebration aims to increase awareness on various family issues; enhance effectiveness of local, regional, and national efforts to undertake specific programs concerning families, and promote collaboration among national and regional non-government organizations in support to multi-sectoral activities.

The week-long event is hosted by the Department of Social Welfare and Development as chair of the National Committee on the Filipino Family, together with partners from non-government organizations, other government agencies, academe, and civic groups.

To make this year’s observance more meaningful and successful, all government officials and employees are encouraged to participate and support the National Family Week celebration and to declare Sept. 28 as “Famealy Day” when government personnel are encouraged to go home in time for dinner with their families. Agencies may come up with their own family related activities.

For more details, please contact Carina Javier at telephone numbers 931-9143 and 951-7440 of the DSWD.
