City’s SUMVAC council revamped

Mayor Mauricio Domogan re-organized the working committee for the Summer Vacation in Baguio (Sumvac) 2017.

The mayor will chair the executive committee with Rep. Marques Go as honorary chair, Vice Mayor Edison Bilog as vice chair; and Councilor Elmer Datuin, sangguniang panlungsod committee on tourism and special event chair, and City Administrator Carlos Canilao as action officers.

Members of the working committee to complement the Sumvac operations this year are Councilor Peter Fianza for the Araw ng Kagitingan, Liberation of Baguio and Kafagway; Datuin for the Summer Arts Expo, Cultural and Baguio Musical Festival, national and regional summer tourism program, summer sports activities; City Health Officer Rowena Galpo for the summer health and environment programs; Public Employment Services Office Manager Jose Atanacio for the job’s fair and Labor Day activities; Canilao for the communications groups, peace, security and traffic assistance; and Helen Tibaldo of the Philippine Information Agency for the media relations and Search for Lucky Summer Visitors.

Councilor Arthur Allad-iw will chair the committee in charge of the church and Holy week activities, Councilor Michael Lawana for barangay fiesta; City Buildings and Architecture Officer Nazita Bañez for the streamer road signs’ maintenance, City General Services Officer Romeo Concio for the physical arrangements and logistics; and the office of the city administrator as secretariat.

The committee chairpersons will prepare the guidelines that will ensure the success of the programs.

Among the activities lined up for the Sumvac are the Philippine Military Academy graduation rites, Holy Week, Araw ng Kagitingan, Aliwan Fiesta, celebration of the Baguio Liberation Day, Labor Day, and Sabsabong ti Mayo.
