Ifugao brgys benefit from road project
by PIA with reports from Gyda Namingit

LAMUT, Ifugao – The 5.8 kilometer Lamut-Panopdopan-Jolowon Road will soon be improved through the government’s Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP).

Recently, personnel of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, officials of the province, and the community witnessed the ground breaking of the project.

CMGP is a partnership program between the DILG and Department of Budget and Management to partly address the poor state of provincial roads across the country and to improve the capacity of provinces in road management and incorporating reforms in public financial management.

The CMGP is formerly the Kongkreto at ayos na lansangan: ang daan tungo sa pangkalahatang kaunlaran (Kalsada) program.

Gov. Pedro G. Mayam-o thanked the attendees and encouraged them to work together in monitoring the implementation of the project that will benefit people in the province.

Mayor Mariano B. Buyagawan Jr. also thanked the provincial government and DILG for the project.

DILG-CAR Director Mario Iringan encouraged the barangay officials and the beneficiaries to monitor to ensure that it is implemented properly.

Punong barangays Salvador O. Balmores and John P. Dulinayan of Mabato-bato and Lucban, respectively also expressed their gratitude to the DILG and the provincial government of Ifugao.

Ifugao is ranked number 11 in the combined 2016-2017 nationwide infra component performance ranking for the implementation of the CMGP and Kalsada programs.
