BFP-CAR recognizes fire safety advocacy partners

BFP PARTNER -- Benguet Rep. The Bureau of Fire Protection-Cordillera recognized its partners in fire safety advocacy during its 27th foundation anniversary celebration last week.

The program that adopts the theme, “BFP@27: Upgrading capabilities, empowering communities,” was held at Venus Parkview Hotel on Aug. 23 with Benguet Gov. Crescencio Pacalso as the guest speaker.

The awardees were Abra; Mountain Province; Tuba, Benguet; Tayum and Danglas in Abra; and the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of Samoki in Bontoc, Mountain Province.

Also awarded were the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine Information Agency, the Commission on Audit of DILG-Cordillera, and the Department of Public Works and Highways’ 1st District Engineering Office of Conner, Apayao.

For non-government organizations and private individuals, the awardees were Rev. Fr. Camilo Ongsit of the Saint Paul Parish Church in Tuba, Benguet; Pastor Network of the Philippines for Spiritual and Mutual Transformation; the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association Inc.-Baguio Branch; and Marianita Altaki.

Plaques of recognition were also awarded to the BFP national awardees namely the Benguet; Baguio City; Tublay, Benguet; Barangay Alfonso Tabora, Baguio City; and the fire station of Penarrubia, Abra.

For BFP organizational recognition, the awardees were the Penarrubia Fire Station as the Best Municipal Fire Station in the region, Baguio Fire Station as the Best City Fire Station, and BFP Apayao Provincial Office as the Best Office of the Provincial Fire Marshall.

BFP also recognized its retirees for their unwavering services.

Simangan expressed BFP’s gratitude to the awardees for helping the agency perform its mandate of ensuring fire-safe communities.
