The National Commission for Culture and the Arts is now accepting proposals for the documentation of indigenous health practices for the 2021 competitiveness grants program.

NCCA National Committee head for Northern Luzon Dr. Edwin Antonio said in a virtual press conference on Wednesday that the NCCA is hoping for more proposals to be submitted for 2021 compared to in the past years, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

NCCA Policy Formulation and Program Division Chief Ferdinand Isleta said for 2021, there are four slots for documentation of healing practices, each worth P100,000.

Isleta said the NCCA can also divert savings from other program categories to accommodate proposals should there be an increase in submissions. Supplemental funds could also be allotted for proposals related to indigenous health and health-related practices.

The NCCA annually accepts proposals for funding related to architecture and allied arts, cinema, dance, dramatic arts, literary arts, music, and visual arts. Proposals that relate to cultural arts, cultural communities, and traditional arts as well as cultural dissemination and others can also be submitted.

Deadline for the submission of proposals is on Sept. 30.
