PHIC has a new policy
PhilHealth Release

Starting August this year, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) shall be requiring all employers in the private and government sectors to submit their PhilHealth Remittance Reports (RF1) on a monthly basis. This is to ensure the regular updating of employee contribution records and to avoid any inconvenience to members during hospitalization or claiming of benefits.

PhilHealth Circular 9, s. 2008 issued last May modified what used to be a quarterly submission of remittance reports into a monthly obligation.
The circular provides that all employers, including those submitting in diskette form, must submit their reports to PhilHealth on or before the 15th day after the applicable month.

Thus, for the month of July, employers based in CAR are expected to submit their remittance reports to the PhilHealth regional office or to any of its field offices in the provinces of Abra, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province on or before Aug. 15.

Meanwhile, the quarterly remittance report for the months of April to June 2008 may be submitted until July 15.

The RF1 contains the names and PhilHealth identification numbers of the employees and a declaration of their individual monthly salary brackets (MSB). Indicating the correct MSB would back PhilHealth region office’s monitoring efforts so that appropriate premiums are paid and no underpayment is incurred. Employees are directed to secure a PIN to facilitate the uploading of premium payment information into PhilHealth’s contributions database.

Relative to this, employers are also being reminded of the deadline of payment of monthly premiums which is on the 10th day of the succeeding month. Failure to remit shall warrant the filing of appropriate charges against the erring employer.

Personnel of the PhilHealth regional office will personally assist employers in the proper accomplishment of their monthly reports. Those interested may visit the Collection Section of PhilHealth at the 4/F SSS Bldg., Harrison Rd., Baguio City or they may also inquire through telephone numbers 444-9862 and 444-8361 loc 4007.
