LAGAWE, Ifugao – The province ranked second in the implementation of the ‘Garantisadong Pambata: GP 8 essential package, kids can’t wait’ activity done in the second quarter of this year.
In a letter from Dr. Myrna Cabotaje, regional director of the Department of Health, she said the province accomplished 92.52 percent for Vitamin A supplement and 93.26 percent for deworming which contributed to the increase of the regional coverage.
“With the hard work of your health staff and the full support of the officialdom of Ifugao, the province ranked second in the overall GP accomplishment of CAR,” Cabotaje said.
She, however, noted that there are still 2,264 children not given Vitamin A and 1,978 children not yet dewormed. A mop-up operation should be done every other week to reach these “missed” children, she added.
The province of Kalinga ranked first in the implementation of Vitamin A and deworming; Abra ranked third; Apayao ranked fourth; Benguet placed fifth; Baguio City is in sixth; and Mountain Province is seventh. |
