Piglets given as aid to poor families in Tabuk
by PIA

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – One hundred eighty-four  poor families from 11 barangays of this city are the latest recipients  of dispersal piglets from  the  livelihood project of the provincial and city  governments and the International Association for Transformation (IAT).

The piglets were pass-on gifts to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries from barangays Bado Dangwa, Gobgob, Cabaritan, Nambaran, Bulanao, Balong, Bantay, Appas, Laya, Dupag, and San Julian.

IAT Director Sison Paut said the provincial government gave 100 piglets while Tabuk City officials pooled their financial assistance for the project.

Councilors Zoraida Wacnang, Vicente Martinez, Dada Wandag, and Lucretina Sarol also provided P210,000 as counterpart.

Other officials provided the same assistance in earlier pass-on gifts.

Earlier this year, 33 families in Sucbot-Cabaruan, a Pumiyaan cluster barangays of the provincial government, were given piglets through the efforts of Gov. Jocel Baac, Vice Gov. James Edduba, and members of the sangguniang panlalawigan.

Under this partnership, the provincial and city governments provide funds while the IAT is responsible for social preparation, organizing and selection process. The project targets to benefit 5,000 families.
