Tabuk LGU receives 24 computers from DICT
by Larry L. Lopez / PIA

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Department of Information and Communication Technology turned over eight more computer units to the city government under the Land on Digital Jobs program.

City Information Technology Officer Daniel Dalanao said DICT has so far provided 24 computer units to the city to boost its e-library, especially at this time of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This is in line with the national government’s program in bridging digital gaps in the countryside to help rural folks find online livelihood opportunities.

The city e-library is used by students to research for their distance learning and is also open to micro-entrepreneurs interested to train in online marketing, Dalanao said.

Online selling has boomed and opened lucrative markets for micro-enterprises.

To create rural impact, the national government empowers local government units open livelihood opportunities to prevent the influx of people to the National Capital Region, Dalanao added.

The DICT also provided four computer units each to the towns of Balbalan, Lubuagan, and Pinukpuk.
