Typhoon Lawin In Pictures
Government agencies and the various Disaster Risk Reduction Management Councils in the Cordillera did a great job in issuing early warnings to residents in all provinces in the region even before Super Typhoon Lawin made a landfall in Cagayan Region and in Apayao province before heading towards the South China Sea.

Still, the super typhoon managed to wreck havoc in some areas in the region, particularly the provinces of Kalinga and Apayao, which are now under state of calamity. But the casualties expected from a typhoon of that magnitude was low and could be attributed to the growing awareness on disaster readiness. Here is a compilation of some of the images taken from various parts of the region.
