La Trinidad civic leader and retired school supervisor Virginia Fianza has been elected president of the Pico Senior Citizens Association (SCA) for 2013-2014 for the third consecutive term in what is seen as vote of confidence.
Elected as vice president was recently retired master teacher Puriza Tarnate, followed by Dionisia Baladad as secretary, Beatriz Paulino as assistant secretary, Lourdes Tumpao as treasurer, Purita Saley as assistant treasurer, Juanito Cayatoc as auditor, Rufino Mario as business manager, and Robert Cirilo as press relations officer.
The Pico SCA is one of several active senior citizen organizations in La Trinidad whose total membership may exceed 20,000.
Fianza, who once sat as Benguet governor as part of the Senior Citizen-Officers for a Day (Scofad), said the organization will continue to play an active role in municipal activities and undertakings.
The new set of officers was inducted by Pico Punong Barangay Juan Mendoza on Feb. 24 at the barangay hall.
The organization has participated in the successful lakbay-aral to Corregidor, Bataan as part of the Scofad programs and projects, the Adivay Festival, Christmas festivities, and in the incoming Strawberry Festival organized by the municipal government of La Trinidad.
Fianza said the organization will help ensure the Strawberry Festival will generate more goodwill for the municipality.
