Junior high school completers from the Magnus Victrix Class of Baguio City High School Science and Engineering Program (STE) is concluding the school year with an outreach activity.
Students from three classes will turn over pre-owned uniforms to the school’s guidance office which will determine the recipients based on their records of a student’s economic status.
The completers who are proceeding to senior high school (SHS) will be using different sets of uniform. Those with younger brothers and sisters who may still use the uniforms may not donate to the cause but are encouraged to participate in the outreach activity through any form.
Magnus victrix is a Latin term which means “great victors.” Each batch of the STE of City High adopts a name which serves as its identity. All members of the batch or class strives to live up to the expectations set by them and their advisers.
The STE is an academic program that caters to students who are intellectually gifted especially in Science and Math.
Most of the members are academic wizards who represent the school in various contests. The teachers assigned to the program are among the finest.
SHS covers the last two years of the K to 12 program and includes grades 11 and 12. According to the Department of Education, these two additional years will equip learners with skills that will better prepare them for the future.
In SHS, students will go through a core curriculum and subjects under a track of their choice.
City High’s STE program was originally called the Special Science Program. Members are selected by means of written examination administered by the Department of Education and facilitated by the City High Guidance Office.
