Blessing welcome Silahis ng Pasko Lucky Christmas baby

Baby boy Ethan Elijah Abubo, born at 3:49 a.m. last Dec. 25 at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center is this year’s Silahis ng Pasko Lucky Christmas Baby.

The second child of construction worker Denton, 29 and housewife Maricel Abrasado, 30, of Batuan, Nanga-lisan, Tuba, Benguet, baby Elijah was born through normal delivery weighing 2.97 kilos with the help of attending physician Dr. Eric Dugong.

His elder brother Franklin is 14.

The baby received cash, clothes and blankets courtesy of balikbayan Josephine Delinela who has been supporting the project for the past years with her late husband Bonnie, and a cavan of rice from the City Social Welfare and Deve-lopment Office, food and goodies from the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs, Federation of Baguio Senior Citizens Association, Blessed Association of Retired Persons Foundation Inc., and the Philippine Government Retirees Association.

The annual Quest for Lucky Christmas Baby was spearheaded by the city government through the CSWDO headed by Betty Fangasan, the National Correspondents Club of Baguio led by former councilor Narciso Padilla, the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs, and Baguio balikbayans.

Padilla said the selection of the lucky baby was done midnight of Dec. 24 while the awarding was conducted last Dec. 26 at 9 a.m. 

The same procedure will be done for the Search for the Lucky New Year Baby on New Year’s eve. The lucky baby will be awarded on Jan. 2 with prizes courtesy of retired U.S. Navy Angel Villaralbo.

Social Welfare zide Dolores Busacay said Elijah’s mother who hails from Bacolod City and father from Nangalisan, Tuba, Benguet met through social media site Facebook where they developed friendship and later romantic relationship that led to their marriage last May 23.
