Employees of the National Economic Development Authority-Cordillera brought to life the agency’s anthem for the Philippines’ economic progress, “Tunog ng Progreso” through a synchronized dance early in December at the Botanical-Centennial Park.
The initiative aimed to advocate support to the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022, which is anchored on President Rodrigo Duterte’s 0-10 Point Socio-economic Agenda and geared towards the country’s long-term vision of a matatag, maginhawa, at panatag na buhay para sa lahat.
The Tunog ng Progreso is inspired by the country’s economic performance.
It was written and performed by Thyro, a Filipino pop musical artist and choreographed by Karizza Mae Paredes of the Governance Staff of NEDA central office.
Employees, led by NEDA-Cordillera Director Milagros Rimando, learned the lyrics and mastered the dance steps.
To promote local tourism, the video shoot of the employees dancing took place at the Centennial Monument of the Botanical-Centennial Park, located near the NEDA regional office.
The show gave joy to park-goers who applauded the performance.
The dance performances were also shot in prominent tourist destinations in other regions.
The performances of all NEDA regional offices will be compiled by the Development and Information Staff of the central office, which will be turned into an audio-visual presentation.
The Tunog ng Progreso encourages Filipinos to work for progress not only for one’s self, but also for the country.
