Benguet Adivay 2019 kicks off

All roads now lead to Benguet with the official kick off of the 2019 Adivay Festival and 119th foundation anniversary of the province.

Gov. Melchor Diclas said the month-long festival would be a gathering of the 13 towns for celebration and thanksgiving of the abundant blessings and the unity of the people.

This year’s theme: “Healthier Benguet” highlights the priority program of the provincial government.

The 13 pairs of candidates for Mr. and Ms. Benguet also flaunted their culture-inspired clothes before the guests and officials of the province. The coronation night is Nov. 21 at the Benguet Sports Complex at Wangal, La Trinidad.

Various activities are lined up for the festival which include the micro, small and medium enterprises summit, Nov. 11 at the Gov. Ben Palispis Hall and Capitol lobby.

The activity would also award the best Benguet MSME product, “one-town, one-product” champion, most competitive show, most competitive municipality, best BAMBI implementor, most participated negosyo serbisyo sa barangay, and most compliant business permits and licensing office.

A minor surgical health fair is set Nov. 20 at the Benguet General Hospital; oral health program and eye check-up screening, Nov. 22 at BTS gym; and the bilateral tubal ligation Nov. 25 to 26 at the Kapangan District Hospital.

The opening of the trade fair will be on Nov. 10 and will run until Nov. 24 at Wangal while the sought-after agri-tourism fair showcasing products of the towns in their respective booths, will open Nov. 18 at the Benguet cold chain area until Nov. 24. 

Senior citizen Adivay show is slated Nov. 15, Benguet cultural dance performances is on Nov. 16 at the BSC gym while the Benguet Awards program is on Nov. 22 at the Gov. Ben Palispis Hall that will honor the province’s outstanding citizens and groups.

A new addition to the lineup of events is the Benguet rodeo show to be added with the dongba ni kavajo which will commence Nov. 16 through a parade from BSU Balili to the BSC grounds and will close Nov. 17. 

The Adivay Festival will close with a thanksgiving, Nov. 24 and the employee’s night, Nov. 29.
