MP police honored in PRO-Cor chief visit

BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Police Regional Office Cordillera recently awarded some personnel of the Mountain Province Provincial Police Office for arresting wanted persons and for their crime prevention efforts.

The awarding rites were held during PRO-Cor’s command visit and internal security operations review in Bontoc led by Regional Director Elmo Sarona together with Acting Gov. Bonifacio Lacwasan.

Supt. Joseph B. Cayat, Supt. Fernando S. Botangen, C/Insp. Gerald B. Suquib, S/Insp. Gilbert L. Bulalit, SPO4 Romualdo A. Ngina, SPO1 Freddy F. Chumayag, PO3 Joel B. Chiyawan, and PO2 Redentor S. Begeo received the Medalya ng Papuri for the arrest of Joseph Tabareng Saya-an, listed as No. 8 top most wanted person at the regional level the year’s third quarter for murder and frustrated murder, in Dantay, Bontoc on Sept. 13.

The operational accomplishment, Sarona said, reflects the awardees’ high sense of commitment, teamwork, and devotion to duty in intensifying anti-criminality campaign which greatly contributed in the accomplishment of the PNP mission and functions worthy of emulation by other personnel.

The Medalya ng Papuri was also awarded to S/Insp. Jackson C. Damong for the arrest of Ruben Waclin Oliver, listed as No. 9 top ,ost wanted person-regional level, for rape in Roxas, Isabela on June 5.

The Medalya ng Ugnayang Pampu-lisya was awarded to S/Supt. Tellio C. Ngis-o, PSupt. Jomarick B. Felina, C/Insp. Bernardo K. Wong, SPO4 Abraham W. Cabfilan, and PO2 Gemma A. Lumayyung for the successful conduct of PCR activities in the different municipalities of Mountain Province that resulted in the success of the 22nd PCR Month celebration with the theme “Police and community: Sharing responsibility, taking action in unity.”

A mandatory random drug test by the Crime Laboratory Office personnel was also conducted for the personnel of the MPPPO during the program.
