PDEA says application for new agents ongoing

Interested male and female residents in the Cordilleras aged 21 to 35 years old are being invited to apply as incoming drug enforcers of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

PDEA officer-in-charge Edgar Apalla announced Friday that his office is still accepting applicants who may send their respective application via the Internet, particularly through email address:  pdea_ recruitment@yahoo.com.

Application forms can be downloaded from the agency’s website www.pdea. gov.ph.

Interested applicants must have the following qualifications: holder of a bachelor’s degree; a passer of the Civil Service Professional examination, eligible for second level position, or a holder of a Professional Regulation Commission license.

Applicants must also be at least five feet and two inches in height for women, and five feet and four inches in height for men; with good moral background; physically fit; computer literate; with commendable oral and written communication skills; exuding with self-confidence; with burning desire to fight the dangerous drug problem in the country; willing to be part of the country’s elite law enforcement group; willing to undergo training for six months; have Hepatitis B clearance; and, have a National Commission on Indigenous Peoples certificate for members of an ethnic group.

Apalla said applicants who qualified to take the qualifying examination (QE) tentatively scheduled on June 23 in Manila will be subsequently notified through e-mail. Following the QE will be the neuro-psychological test.

Passers in the neuro-psychological test will be background-investigated, and will undergo medical examination, agility test, and panel interview.
Successful PDEA recruits shall have an entry salary grade 11 or P11,589 and plantilla position of intelligence officer 1 in the government service.

Apalla, meanwhile, said the 15 new drug enforcement officers, who are still fresh from their six-month training at the academy are being advised to report to the PDEA – Cordillera Administrative Region on June 16.
