Long-distance runner and two-time Olympian Eduardo Buenavista is set to defend his Baguio 21K title as the second staging of the event is set in Baguio on Easter Sunday, April 8.
This early, newbie and seasoned runners from key cities from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao have signified their participation to the second Baguio 21K dubbed “Just run the hills” with five divisions up for grabs.
There will be 3K for kids, 5K, 10K, and 21K divisions.
Event organizer Philip Aquino Pacle of Renderfarm Graphics said that this year’s route is more defying than the inaugural run of Baguio 21K.
“More hills have to be overcome. Every runner has to defy the gravity, to struggle between their mind and strength,” said Pacle, as he announced that Cebu Pacific would be the official airline partner while Baguio’s K-Lite 96.7 FM will be their media partner as well.
Cebu Pacific will provide two round trip tickets to Bangkok, Thailand, which is to be raffled off among finishers as part of cash prizes, trophies, and medals at stake.
Runners from as far as Cebu, Davao, Bicol, Zambales, and Cavite already signified their intention to join the race.
There are eight registration centers located in strategic places all over the country. Chris Sports in SM City Baguio is the registration center for Baguio runners and other running enthusiasts from neighboring towns.
