SET FOR ONE-MANILA -- Team Lakay’s Joshua Pacio together with Edward Kelly and Geje Eustaquio will represent the Philippines against still unnamed opponents when ONE Championship returns to Manila on Jan. 26, 2018. The biggest MMA promotion in Asia will hold four events in the country in 2018.

Team Lakay’s Joshua Pacio, Edward Kelly, and Geje Eustaquio have been booked when ONE Championship returns to Manila on Jan. 26, 2018.

Lakay chair and head coach Mark Sangiao said last week that the opponents of his fighters will be announced by ONE, the biggest MMA promotion in Asia based in Singapore.

As early as November, several active MMA fighters from Team Lakay have been training hard in Baguio and Benguet ahead of their projected fight dates.

The 21-year-old Pacio, a former ONE straw weight world contender, aims to extend his winning streak to two following his jaw-dropping knockout of fellow Filipino fighter Roy Doliguez in ONE: Legends of the World on Nov. 10.

Pacio earned a crack of the title shot when he defeated former ONE strawweight world champion Dejdmrong Sor Amnuaysirichokein March in the title eliminator bout.

He was however defeated via rear naked choke submission by Hayato Suzuki in August.

This time, Pacio wants to become a top contender with a win against his unnamed opponent. At a young age, Pacio has 10 wins and two losses.

The 33-year-old Kelly, on the other hand, wants to make a comeback following his unanimous decision loss against Emilio Urrutia in ONE: Quest for Greatness in August.

The featherweight fighter has been riding high on three successive wins from March to December 2016 before his recent defeat.

Kelly, who holds a professional record of nine wins and four losses, is slowly earning his credentials for the ONE featherweight world champion.

Eustaquio, meanwhile, wants to retain his status as a top contender in the flyweight division even after he loses to Kairat Akhmetov in a controversial split decision in September.

The 28-year-old Eustaquio, who once fought for a ONE championship belt, now holds a professional record of nine wins and six losses.

The main event and other fight cards for the Jan. 26, 2018 showdown at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay will be announced soon.
