Adivay Cup set at CJH & Pinewoods
by Harley F. Palangchao

It’s all systems go for the 2nd Adivay Golf Cup as organizers announced that the final dates and venues will be Nov. 15 and 16 at Camp John Hay and Pinewoods Golf & Country Club, respectively.

The organizing committee said the team play, which will feature teams from the 13 towns of Benguet and Baguio City, will be on Nov. 15 at the par-69 CJH fairway.

Tuba Team A will defend its title against formidable teams from the towns of Atok, Bakun, Buguias, Bokod, Itogon, Kapangan, Kibungan, Kabayan, Mankayan, Sablan, Tuba, Tublay, and Baguio City.

Some towns such as Mankayan, La Trinidad, and Tuba are fielding two or more teams composed of five players each group.

To join the team event, participants should be bona fide residents of Benguet or Baguio or trace their roots to any town of the province. Non-residents who are working in companies located in Benguet are qualified to join the team event. Registration is P2,600 per participant.

The individual event set at Pinewoods the following day will have a registration fee of P1,500.

There is no restriction for the individual play, which will adopt the System 36 in determining the winners in various categories.

In a bid to be transparent, the organizing committee has been updating the names and amount given by the sponsors and donors.

The tournament that will draw players back to their roots in Benguet is also a reunion of sorts for the local parbusters, who are among the best non-rated players in Luzon.
