BSU prexy welcomes MAP coaches, athletes

The Muaythai Association (MAP) of the Philippines has vowed to help develop aspiring and future Muaythai champions from the Cordillera through the support of Benguet State University.

Ties between MAP and the BSU Institute of Human Kinetics was formalized with the recent signing of a memorandum of agreement for the development of Muaythai, one of the most popular contact sports in the world today.

Last week, bemedaled Muaythai National Team head coach Billy Alumno together with fellow coach, Edzel Ngina, and the reigning regional and world Muaythai champions paid courtesy visit to BSU President Felipe Comila.

The champions are World Muaythai Council (WMC) Asian lightweight champion Ryan Jakiri, World Boxing Council national youth champion Adel Rosales, WMC Asian bantamweight champion Ariel Lee Lampacan, and WMC Asian featherweight champion Phillip Delarmino.

Both from the Cordillera, Alumno and Ngina have been nurturing members of the national Muaythai team for the past decades.

Under its MOA with BSU, MAP has committed to assist BSU athletes and regional athletes in the community by giving workshops, training, and seminars. 

MAP will also share its technical skills and knowledge in training student-athletes of BSU.
