PSC commissioner for sectoral sports Jose Mundo in a faxed message said “...the activity in line with the gender equity program of [the president].”
He said, “the president saw it fit to make women’s advocacy no longer confined during the women’s month celebration in March but a yearlong empowerment advocacy.”
Mayor Reinaldo Bautista, Jr. for his part welcomed the countrywide sports development program saying that “...the activity surely puts an end to stereotypes — it goes to show that indeed, they are equally capable as their male counterparts.”
The event is made possible with the combined efforts and resources of the PSC, the City Government of Baguio, Milo, STI, Enchanted Kingdom, Gold’s Gym, Centrum, Superferry, Everlast, Air Philippines, Splash Island, Bio-Femme, and Absolute water. |
