BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration provided financial assistance to an organization and three individuals in the municipality.

The Vangad-Madnoh Organization based in Barangay Talubin, a beneficiary of OWWA’s Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Pag-unlad ng Samahang Overseas Filipino Workers Program of the National Reintegration Center of OFWs, was awarded a check worth P75,000.

OWWA National Reintegration Center of OFW Director Gerald Tan; OWWA-Cordillera Officer-in-Charge Director Luzviminda Tumalivan; Provincial Administrator Franklin Odsey; and Bontoc Mayor Jerome Tudlong, Jr. led the turnover of the financial assistance to the beneficiaries.

The organization received the first tranche equivalent to 20 percent of the grant amounting to P50,000 in December 2021 while the second tranche equivalent to 50 percent amounting to P125,000 was turned over in April 2022.

The recently released check is the third and final tranche, equivalent to 30 percent of the P250,000 grant.

The organization shouldered the 20 percent of the total cost as their counterpart for the project.

The three beneficiaries of the Individual Livelihood Assistance under Balik Pinas, Balik Hanapbuhay (BPBH) are Joeneleyn Grace Bawing who received P20,000 for her sari-sari store; Vilma Sangayab who received P20,000 for her hog raising livelihood; and Bernadette Atio-an who received P5,000 as a grant for her dry goods business. BPBH is a one-time grant of livelihood assistance for distressed/displaced OFW. Also present during the turnover were Family Welfare Officer of OWWA-Mountain Province Jenelyn L. Ngolab, Municipal Labor and Employment Officer III Jenelyn Caluza, and Supervising Administrative Officer Ernesto Emilio of the Provincial Government of Mountain Province. – Christy Mae F. Che-es
