BANGUED, Abra – The Social Security System-Bangued and the local government unit of San Isidro signed a memorandum of agreement that will benefit 107 job order (JO) and contract of service (COS) workers under SSS KaSSSangga Collect Program.

Under the partnership, JOs/COS will be registered as self-employed members of the SSS and the LGU will facilitate the deduction of monthly contribution from the JOs/COS workers’ salaries and remit these to SSS Bangued as they fall due.

The regular remittance of SSS contributions will make the JOs and COS workers qualified to social security benefits under the Social Security that include sickness, maternity, disability, retirement, death, and funeral; and Employees’ Compensation that include sickness, disability, and death.

They can also avail of the short-term loan privileges such as salary, calamity, and pension loan.

The “SSS eWheels sa Barangay” was also simultaneously conducted to provide SSS services closer to the barangays and teach its clientele on how to use various digital platforms like the SSS website, My.SSS Portal, USSSap Tayo Portal.

Residents of San Isidro were also assisted on their contribution and loan verifications, disbursement account enrollment, benefit and loan application, and other SSS online services.

Earlier, SSS Bangued and North Luzon 1 Division officials visited six empoyers in various towns in Abra and reminded them to settle their unremitted past-due contributions to the State insurer.

SSS offered the contribution penalty condonation program wherein the accumulated penalties will be waived once the principal and interest are completely settled. – Press release
