TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Department of Labor and Employment hired 143 new college graduates for temporary jobs under the Government Internship Program (GIP).
DOLE-Kalinga Head Avelina Manganip said that the hiring this year is a tie-up between DOLE and the Office of Kalinga Rep. Allen Jesse C. Mangaoang who allotted P3.5 million for salaries.
The beneficiaries of the program were deployed for a three-month work in various government agencies in the province based on the field of their courses.
The work period started Aug. 10 to first week of November. They will be paid a daily wage of P350.
The GIP aims to provide new college graduates with training and work experience to prepare them when they apply for higher and more stable employment.
