SM Supermalls has partnered with different local government units to open the multi-mall vaccination program to support the LGUs in their efforts to vaccinate the public against Covid-19.
As of July 26, a total of 1,461,083 vaccine doses have been administered at SM malls vaccination sites nationwide.
To date, 34,787 vaccine doses were administered at SM City Baguio with 21,032 residents receiving their first dose while 13,755 completed their second dose from the start of mall vaccination operations last May 11.
This is made possible through the teamwork of the Department of Health Cordillera, City Health Services Office, Public Order and Safety Division, and Baguio City LGU.
SM City Baguio continues to support the city’s effort to vaccinate the citizens by providing a venue, electrical power supply, Wi-fi connection, early opening of tenants to cater to visitors, permitting shops such as McDonald’s, Swiss Baker, and Jollibee to visit the vaccination site to deliver food and drinks for the vaccinees, and other necessary resources to make sure vaccinations are administered safely and correctly to as many people as possible.
With an average of 1,000 visitors a day at the vaccination site for first and second doses, the mall ensures social distancing among vaccinees while SM security personnel are also in place to assist the city and the health workers to lead the crowd.
SM City Baguio also began featuring the “Vax, Shop, and Dine” promotions which rewards individuals who have gotten their vaccine with discounts, freebies, or special offers from restaurants and shops. This is also through the action of the private sector-led campaign, Ingat Angat Bakuna Lahat.
SM Supermalls hopes to encourage citizens to take their vaccines not only to protect themselves but also others.
The mall has also recently earned the safety seal from the Department of Trade and Industry.
The badge is a testament of the strict implementation and compliance of the minimum public health standards to operate a business during the Covid-19 pandemic.
