Fifty-one more police officers will complement the SWAT Unit of the Baguio City Police Office after finishing almost three months of training at Philex Mines, Ampucao, Benguet.

In a simple ceremony held at the Melvin Jones Grandstand, PRO-Cor Dir. B/Gen. R’win Pagkalinawan graced the closing ceremony of the SWAT Course Class 04-2020RCOR “Manganup” Alpha and Bravo.

Of 51 police pfficers, three are police commissioned officers and the 48 are police non-commissioned officers.

Recognized for their outstanding performance are Cpl Mikhail P. Aspilan for class Alpha and Cpl. Ryan B Bumal-o for class Bravo.

Cpt. Angelito Bidbiday was awarded with the Leadership Award.

Special awards were also given to Cpl. Ryan B Bumal-o – Top Gun in Pistol Marksmanship Category with a rating of 96.48 percent, Cpl. Camfrey O. Fongafong – Top Gun in Rifle Marksmanship Category with a rating of 97.88 percent, and Cpl. Melcres B. Frigillana as the Strong Man with a rating of 95.48 percent.

Top Gun is a special award for trainees who gained the highest score in pistol and rifle marksmanship training while Strong Man is a special award for personnel who excel in the physical fitness aspect of the training.

As part of the closing program, the SWAT graduates showcased their skills in hostage negotiation and police response during crisis situations. – Press release
