BONTOC, Mountain Province – The Municipal Health Office has administered full doses of Covid-19 vaccines to 71.2 percent of its eligible population.

Based on the report of Municipal Health Officer Diga Kay Gomez, as of Oct. 4, health workers have given full doses to 6,233 of the population belonging to the A1 or health workers, A2 or senior citizens, A3 or those with co-morbidities, A4 or the essential workers, and A5 or the indigent population categories.

The total estimated eligible population to be vaccinated in the municipality is 8,658 based on the master list submitted to the MHO in July.

Municipal Immunization Program Coordinator Oliver Gacusana of the MHO is grateful to the high and positive response from the public to be vaccinated.

Gacusana added their office did not receive any reports on negative and grave effects of the vaccine.

The MHO hopes to sustain its vaccination efforts in the coming days, expecting more vaccines from the national government through the Department of Health.

Mayor Franklin Odsey assured nobody will be left behind in the vaccination program as he thanked the government for the allocation of Covid-19 vaccines for Bontoc.

The mayor and health workers encouraged the public to avail of the Covid-19 vaccine once it is their turn to be vaccinated as protection for themselves and the people around them against the virus. – Alpine L. Killa
