BANGUED, Abra – It is now mandatory in this province to wear face masks and face shields.
The mandatory wearing of face masks and face shields is provided for under Provincial Ordinance 313 s. 2020.
“It shall be mandatory for all persons to wear face masks, ear loop masks, indigenous, reusable, do-it-yourself masks or such protective equipment or any combination thereof which can effectively lessen the transmission of Covid-19, whenever they go out of their residences, to include face shields,” the ordinance read.
In consonance with the latest issuance of the Department of Transportation, it shall be mandatory upon all passengers to wear face shields aside from wearing face masks in any mode of public transportation service.
Violators will be fined P2,500 and/or imprisonment of 15 days at the discretion of the court on first offense and P5, 000 and/or imprisonment of 30 days at the discretion of the court on succeeding offenses.
Gov. Maria Jocelyn Bernos has also allowed mass gatherings like training and celebration of the holy mass in the province but the venues must observe the 50 percent capacity. The public is being advised to follow health protocols during social gatherings to prevent the spread of Covid-19. – PIA-Abra
