The Provincial Mining Regulatory Board (PMRB) of Apayao has granted a minahang bayan permit in Apayao – the second issued for the province.
In Resolution 6 s. 2021, the PMRB declared the 2.1 area at Sitio Masid-sidog, Barangay Manag, Conner, under the application of Manuel T. Canipas as a minahang bayan.
Canipas filed his application on March 4, 2014 and after with complying the requirements of the Mines and Geoscien-ces Bureau, was given clearance by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary on Dec. 18, 2020.
After issuance of a declaration, Canipas has to acquire a small-scale mining contract before mining can commence said MGB-Cordillera Director Fay Apil.
The first mina-hang bayan in Apayao was declared on Feb. 4, 2020.
