LUNA, Apayao – The Regional Evacuation Center in the province is being refurbished as temporary treatment and monitoring facility (TTMF) for Covid-19 cases in the province.
Gov. Eleanor Bulut-Begtang and Department of the Interior and Local Government Provincial Director Marvin Basquez inspected the evacuation center at Payanan, San Gregorio in this town which is being converted as a TTMF.
Begtang underscored the need to be ready as Covid-19 cases in the country and in the province continue to increase.
She said the 21-bed capacity facility will be provided with equipment in accordance with the standards or specifications set by the Department of Health.
Because of the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, the DILG advised local government units in the country to prepare temporary treatment facilities in their areas of jurisdiction to help decongest hospitals.
New confirmed Covid-19 patients without or with mild symptoms will be advised to stay at these facilities.
The seven municipalities in the province have set up their isolation facilities and some are being used by locally stranded individuals and returning overseas Filipino workers for their 14-day quarantine before going home to their respective communities.
