Teachers and school officials in Apayao received laptops from the provincial government as part of the latter’s support to the education sector.

Gov. Elias Bulut, Jr. provided 100 laptops to school principals, teacher-in-charge, and school heads of various elementary and secondary schools in the province during the kick-off program of the Brigada Eskwela of the Department of Education-Schools Division of Apayao last week.

The provision of laptops is among the provincial government’s support programs for teachers and school officials to aid DepEd’s learning continuity plan.

This year’s Brigada Eskwela carries the theme, “Brigada Eskwela: Tugon sa hamon ng ligtas na balik aral” that focuses on information campaigns, preparations, and strengthening partnerships that complement DepEd’s effort to ensure quality basic education.

Also known as the National Schools Maintenance Week, the Brigada Eskwela is an annual activity of DepEd participated in by stakeholders from the private and public sectors to ensure that schools are prepared before the school opening.

Based on DepEd Memorandum 34 s. 2022 or the School Calendar and Activities for the School Year 2022-2023, this year’s Brigada Eskwela runs from Aug. 1 to 26. As part of the Brigada Eskwela and “Save Mother Earth Movement” of DepEd, officials led by Provincial Administrator Edmar Pascua and DepEd Apayao personnel led by Chief Education Supervisor Joy Saleng participated in a tree planting in front of the Luna National High School and Luna Central School. – Redjie    Melvic Cawis
