The global organization of Panta Transportation, an Australian Company dedicated in revolutionizing the transportation industry, initiated a dialogue with the various transport cooperatives in the Cordillera and regions 1 and 2 through a forum on June 14.
Discussed during the dialogue was the comprehensive fleet management system (FMS) and automated fare collection system (AFCS) developed by the firm.
Panta Transportation Chief Executive Officer David Kahale who travelled to the Philippines said technology and collaboration could transform not just the transportation industry but also the communities and the lives of Filipinos.
Kahale said the consultation is for the transport cooperatives to raise their concerns and issues in the sector and for them to improve the collaboration they aim to forge with the transport alliance that will be formed.
Representatives of the transport coops were briefed on the plan of the company for the creation of the Unified National Transport Alliance (UNTA) that will become their partner in advancing the mo-dernization of public transport in the country.
Kahale is optimistic the collaboration will ensure sustainability and financial health of the transport sector in the Philippines.
Panta will visit various provinces in the country to inform and collaborate with transport stakeholders in revolutionizing the industry. They plan to pilot the systems in August once the memorandum of agreement is signed next month. – Debbie E. Gasingan
