The Baguio City Police Office arrested two wanted persons in two days of successive operations.

Baguio City’s number 3 Most Wanted Person fell into the hands of authorities in Maligaya, Tarlac City on May 16, after 17 years of hiding.

Cpt. Angeline Dongpaen, BCPO information officer, identified the accused as a 40-year-old man and a resident of Zone B, San Miguel, Tarlac. The accused was tagged as the number 1 Top Ten Most Wanted Person of BCPO Abanao for multiple attempted murder.

“BCPO-City Intelligence Unit took the lead along with the 304th Maneuver Company-RMFB 3 in arresting the wanted person by virtue of an alias warrant of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court, Branch 7 of Baguio City on May 16 for the crime of multiple attempted murder with recommended bail amounting to P120,000,” Dongpaen said.

According to the investigation, the suspect was accused of being involved in the explosion along Upper Assumption Road, Baguio City, which resulted in the injuries of four individuals. He went into hiding in 2006.

The accused is now under the custody of the arresting unit for documentation and proper disposition.

On May 17, another wanted person was arrested by the personnel of BCPO-Kennon Police Station in Camp 7.

A 27-year-old man identified as a construction worker and a resident of Barangay Lawlawitan, Bauko, Mountain Province was accused of frustrated homicide with a pending case in court.

Dongpaen said Baguio RTC Branch 78 issued a warrant on May 8 with a recommended bail of P100,000 for his temporary liberty.

However, the Office of the City Prosecutor of Baguio indicted the accused for frustrated homicide due to the sustained severe traumatic brain injury of the victim in a mauling incident.
