Another health caravan and other services is set on June 15 in Poblacion, Kabayan, Benguet as part of the quarterly “Healthier Benguet” program that brings government services closer to the communities.

Silver Pilo, Jr. of the Benguet Public Information Office said the program is in partnership with the municipality of Kabayan and is the second leg of the caravan.

The one-day activity includes medical and dental mission, paralegal services, real property tax (RPT) collection, anti-rabies vaccination and deworming, distribution of seedlings, distribution of patents, and swine artificial insemination.

Pilo said the residents of Kabayan are encouraged to join the activity which is set from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event is in line with the Healthier Benguet development thrust of Gov. Melchor Diclas which stands for Health, Education, Agriculture, Livelihood, Tourism, Human Resource, Infrastructure, Environment, and Responsive governance.

The first leg was held in Kibungan in March which benefitted 693 residents.    

During the medical mission, the beneficiaries accessed medical consultation, circumcision, X-ray services, prenatal services, dental services, basic medical check-up, and eye check-up. Medicines and reading glasses were also distributed to those in need.

Apart from the medical services, other support services such as paralegal services, anti-rabies vaccination, deworming, distribution of seeds, releasing of lot titles, and distribution of relief food packs were also provided to the residents.

Department heads of the provincial government also presented the programs and services  of their respective offices offer which can be accessed by Benguet constituents.

The event was in partnership with Kibungan, Registry of Deeds, Department of Health, Philippine Dental Association, Philippine Red Cross, Philippine Medical Women’s Association, and Baguio Everlasting Lion’s Club.

He said the success of the caravan in Kibungan has paved the way for its implementation in all 13 municipalities of Benguet, with the caravan set to be conducted once every quarter.
