BONTOC, Mountain Province – The local government unit joined the call for Internet providers to provide better connection to the town.

The sangguniang bayan approved a resolution authored by Councilor Jerome Tudlong requesting Internet service providers in the municipality to improve their services.

The resolution asked Internet providers to upgrade their systems because of slow Internet speed, address unstable network signal especially that face-to-face transactions are discouraged due to the pandemic, and hasten their response to calls for technical assistance.

Mayor Franklin Odsey supported the appeal and emphasized the importance of fast and reliable Internet service in the municipality especially during this pandemic.

“The restrictions brought about by the pandemic required us to turn to online services, thus imposing the need for a faster and more reliable Internet connection. An improved Internet connection is not only for the students who use the Internet for blended learning and research but also for the employees with work from home arrangements,” he said.

The mayor urged the network providers to upgrade their infrastructure, put up additional towers, and build towers in barangays where there is no network signal.

He added this is a win-win solution for the service providers and the customers as more users will avail of the services if they are satisfied. – Christy Mae Che-es and Alpine L. Killa
