VILLAVICIOSA, Abra – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources here trained residents and members of the Youth for Agriculture Association of Barangay Tamac on post-harvest production of fishery products.

Trainers from BFAR-Abra taught the participants on fish deboning and processing particularly for making empanada, lumpia, toasted and steamed siomai, fresh lumpia, fish ball, and smoked fish out of milkfish or bangus as the raw material.

The participants also learned how to make spicy dilis.  

Punong Barangay Carmelo C. Bayod expressed his gratitude to the government for bringing such training in their barangay.

The activity, led by Provincial Fishery Officer Janet S. Daguio, was made possible through the joint Community Support Program of the Charlie Company, 81st Infantry Battalion of the  Philippine Army led by Commanding Officer, 1Lt. Arthur Rey Aranggo; 1504th Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion; and 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company.

The program was also supported by the local government unit of Villaviciosa, the Municipal Police Station headed by Lt. Cerel W. Gaspili, and barangay officials. – PIA-Abra
