BANGUED, Abra – The Revenue District Office (RDO) 007 Bangued reminds all Abrenian taxpayers to file their 2022 Annual Income Tax Returns (AITR) on or before April 17 to avoid penalty and other surcharges.
This is in support to the 2023 BIR national tax campaign with the theme, “Tulong-tulong sa pagbangon, kapit kamay sa pag-ahon, buwis na wasto, alay para sa Pilipino.”
Bangued Revenue District Officer Dominga B. Bango urged the taxpayers to pay earlier to avoid the rush during deadlines.
She said revenue collection officers are stationed at the municipal halls of each town across the province to assist Abrenians in paying their taxes.
Bangao said for 2022, there were 11,642 active business registrants in Abra, a 22.59 percent increase compared to the 9,497 recorded in 2021.
“Our regular target for this registration is at least three percent, so we have surpassed the target through tax mapping and active campaign,” she said.
The RDO also surpassed its collection target of P601.1 million last year with a total tax collection of P749.4M or by 24.53 percent.
The total collection target for 2021 was surpassed also by 43.65 percent, she added, attributing the increase to strengthened taxpayers’ awareness program.
“We held tax briefings through virtual and face to face, radio announcements, social media disseminations and distribution of fliers through this taxpayer’s awareness program,” Bangao added.
The RDO is also continuously coordinating with local government units on the digitalization of transactions especially on the business licensing for faster releasing of permits. – Christian Allister Tubadeza
