BONTOC, Mountain Province – The local government here wants to level up the bar of excellence among the Sangguniang Kabataan in its 16 barangays through the Search for the Most Outstanding SK.
The sangguniang bayan passed an ordinance institutionalizing the search known as “Gawad sa Huwarang Pamamahala ng Kabataan Award” which is geared on promoting and practicing the principles of good youth governance in the barangays.
The award aims to recognize deserving SK officials who demonstrated exemplary performance of their duties and functions that greatly contributed to the achievement of sustainable and inclusive socio-economic development in their respective communities.
It is a continuing commitment of the SK to continually improve their performance. It shall serve as a monitoring and evaluation mechanism on policy compliance of the SK.
Winners will receive a plaque and P30,000; P20,000; and P10,000, for the first prize, second prize and third prizes, respectively.
A committee chaired by Mayor Franklin Odsey was organized to ensure proper, effective, and efficient implementation of the award.
The criteria for the selection of candidates in the search are leadership, management, creativeness and innovativeness, integrity, transparency, accountability, and ethics and values.
