BONTOC, Mountain Province – The local government is taking an extra step in taking care of the health and wellness of its employees by providing them with free vitamins.
Mayor Jerome Tudlong, Jr., said employees and officials are at the forefront of providing services to the public, thus, they are exposed to health risks.
The mayor said employees deserve support and protection as the country is still battling with the Covid-19. The dip in temperature also increases the exposure of LGU personnel to common illnesses, Tudlong added.
“Maintaining a healthy and good nutrition and boosting one’s immune system is vital especially since we are still in a health crisis. Also, healthier and happy employees are more productive at work and are less likely to call in sick or use vacation time due to illness,” Tudlong said.
He directed the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to allot funds for the purchase of vitamins to be distributed to officials and employees of the LGU including those who are hired in a casual, contractual, and job order appointment.
The MDRRMO has divided the vitamins procured, of which each employee received 55 capsules of vitamin C with zinc and 35 tablets of vitamin B-complex. – Alpine K. Malwagay
