Team Lakay’s Carlo Von Bumina-ang has been awarded the coveted S100,000 contract to the main roster of fighters in ONE Championship following his fifth victory in the home of martial arts in Asia.

The 30-year-old Bumina-ang submitted Charyan Oorzhak of Mongolia via ninja choke in the second round of their intense battle.

The fighting pride of Ifugao showed he was the more dominant fighter, as he kept his Mongolian opponent at bay with his barrage of powerful punches.

He also connected leg kicks that obviously hurt his opponent, who tried to engage on the mat but Bumina-ang turned out to be wiser as he attempted arm-triangle and rear-naked chokes.

The assault opened a cut above the opponent’s left eye that bothered him for the rest of the fight.

Bumina-ang connected powerful punches during an exchange of blows that kept thousands of fans inside the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand roaring for both fighters.

Oorzhak attempted for a takedown but it was an error on his part, as Bumina-ang locked in a ninja choke, forcing the former to tap in.

The duel was named “Fight of the Night” while Bumina-ang also received $10,000 performance bonus.

It was a fifth win for Bumina-ang under the weekly ONE Friday Fights series, all by way of impressive finishes.

He became the first mixed martial arts fighter and Filipino to gain a ONE contract via the ONE Lumpinee.
